Marian + Michael

The first time Marian graced Michael’s eyes was in high school. Michael had always thought Marian was stunning, but he was never quite able to talk to her because they never had mutual friends or classes together. That is, until senior year. He walked into class and spotted Marian immediately. “She was sitting in the back row wearing a blue Tigers hoody. Her hair was long and curly.” Michael turned to his friend and told him that one day he was going to marry that beautiful girl.

The first time Marian noticed Michael isn’t quite as charming. “I remember thinking “What a loud obnoxious person!” he talked so much, but it got my attention”. Marian wanted nothing to do with this loud senior boy. However, Michael had one thing on his mind: To get this girl. He would spend his class time asking Marian questions about her life and even turning around to throw erasers her way. One day, Marian walked into class only to find Michael sitting in her seat. He said that he wasn’t leaving until he had her number, so Marian humored him and gave it to him. Michael got up from her seat and she sat down. Thinking that was the end of Michael, but it was only the beginning.

Michael has many traits that Marian loves and admires but his persistence is at the top of the list. Michael got Marian to agree to go on a date with him. On their very first date sitting in the restaurant having breakfast with a boy from chemistry class who once annoyed her, Marian saw a different person. She saw a man who was funny, caring and a great listener. From that moment on, she was hooked.

Years later Michael took Marian for a walk in what he called a “winter wonderland”. They went walking to a tree they had once sat under and carved their initials into. Michael tricked Marian to look away from him. When she glanced back she saw the man who was made for her, holding the ring of her dreams, asking her to be his lifelong partner. The woman that Michael had always prayed for accepted to be his wife. In all of his life, he had never felt so accomplished. After all, he should! Because Michael finally got the girl.

Marian and Michael are two great examples of my amazing clients. They trusted me entirely to choose locations for their film engagement session. We trekked along the highway into the woods, and then into a very muddy construction zone, all while I promised them that I knew it was a weird location, but that it was going to be beautiful.
