The very first time Angela and Mark met was one night at a friends house. That evening, Mark and Angela didn’t say more than a polite “hello” to one another when Angela walked in. They went unnoticed to each other the rest of the night.
It wasn’t until almost a year later when Mark’s roommates had invited Angela out with them to a local dive bar for a few drinks and conversation. Everyone was getting up to leave for the night, but Angela and Mark both had two full drinks. They glanced up at one another, and with a smile, decided to stay and finish their drinks. One drink quickly turned into closing down the bar. Angela couldn’t believe the amazing hours of conversation she’s just had with someone who went under her radar for almost a year. Her interest was officially piqued. Mark spent the evening engineering a small party two weeks later at a mutual friends house just to have an excuse to spend time with her again. They started dating towards the end of that summer.
Fast forward past many adventures and many nights spent at that same dive bar. Mark was extremely nervous and shaking. He had not originally planned to propose until a week later, but as they were watching the sunset on the empty beach he couldn’t think of a more romantic moment than this. Angela thought Mark was teasing her at first, but when she realized this moment was real she broke down in tears.
This coming summer they will promise each other forever and spend many more nights chatting at dive bars for years to come.
