Amanda + Dan

One of my favorite kinds of love story is the high school sweetheart story. I love to see couples that have been together since the very beginning of life’s biggest challenges! Amanda and Dan’s story is no exception to the sweetness that a high school love holds.

Although they had been friends for years, Amanda’s first real memory of Dan goes back to tenth grade social studies. Dan and Amanda had attended school together for years and Dan was even good friends with Amanda’s little brother. Ever since the beginning of senior year Dan had been flirting with Amanda. He stood by her locker one day and she asked him if he needed something. Dan quickly gathered the courage to ask his crush out on a date. Amanda quickly agreed! Their first date was grinders at a local pizza shop and a hockey game. They both had a blast and by date #2 they were inseparable.

Dan is a closet romantic. One of the sweetest things he has done for Amanda is showing up at her doorstep on her birthday in a snowstorm with a dozen roses, even though they lived hours away!

While on vacation in the Bahamas Amanda was secretly thinking “What a perfect time to propose! In the beautiful Bahamas!”. On their last day there Amanda was getting ready for dinner. She was putting the final touches on her outfit when Dan looked at her and told her she was missing something. Confused, Amanda asked what. Dan got down on one knee and pulled out a small box. He opened it and there was a diamond ring. Of course she said yes!

We started Dan and Amanda’s fall engagement session at a park in Michigan. We ended with a few shots in the beautiful gold light just as the sun was setting. Enjoy!
