Alex + Michael

Eighth grade is tough. You’re at a ripe age just starting your teen years and you’re just starting to figure out what life is all about. Now image being in eighth grade gym class on your first day at a brand new school. This was Alex. Her family had just moved into a new neighborhood and Alex was starting fresh at a new school with new teachers, and of course, new friends. On this particular first day in gym Alex had chosen to wear a sweatshirt that had the name of the golf course from the neighborhood she had just moved into. Engagement Photography

Michael spotted Alex standing there, and the sweatshirt caught his eye. It caught his eye because that was the same exact neighborhood that Michael and his family had just moved into! He went right up to Alex and struck up a conversation. Alex and Michael became fast friends and weeks later they were “official”. They spent their teen years together at middle school dances, going to movies, and summer nights Alex would sit and watch Michael shoot hoops in her driveway. It was beautiful young love. Now, that was years and year ago. Over a decade their young love grew into a mature, selfless love for one another. Each time their love grew stronger Michael wrote Alex a love letter. Years later, Alex now has a shoebox full of love letters dated back to when they were just thirteen years old to remind her of all the love Michael has for her. Engagement Photography

This past summer Alex and Michael found themselves at their favorite place in the whole world, Disney Land. They were sitting on a small beach alone watching the fireworks and Michael got down on one knee. Of course, she said yes.

We started Alex and Michael’s film engagement session at a local ice cream shop before we headed out to a beautiful field. We had a blast! Alex is an amazing hair and makeup artist! Check out her tutorials HERE.
